When I was a teenager, my sister cut off a pair of my jeans, making sure to leave the pockets. She cut out the crotch and sewed part of one of the legs to make a bag, then used the other leg to make a strap. It was the best purse ever! It had the four pockets and the change pocket. And since it was denim I had it a long time.
