This dazzling belt caught my eye straight away – if I had $350 to spare I´d love to jazz up my Little Black Dress with it! What girl doesn´t love sparkly accessories? A glittery belt is the perfect way of adding that touch of glamour without overdoing it. I´d wear it with my short-sleeved black dress and a beret for Parisian style.

2. J Crew

This braided belt is more in the affordable bracket. What I love about it is the dazzling orange colour. If you don´t like bright outfits, but want to add a little color to what you´re wearing, then belts are a great way of doing this, as are bags. This one will look as good with summer outfits as with winter clothes.

3. Marni

This is the less-is-more of belts. A stunning belt doesn´t have to be dramatic; sometimes it´s the quality of the materials and design that do the trick. This Marni belt seems on first glance to be just a basic black belt, but those with an eye for style will see how well the gold buckle stands out against the black background.

I must admit that I like the look of this belt more than I like the idea of wearing it! I don´t have a very long waist, so wide belts are too constricting for me. However, it is beautiful, isn´t it? The contrast decoration of the thin faux-belt makes it look like two belts in one.

For a bit of bling (well, quite a lot actually), take a look at this Art Deco- inspired Gucci belt. The Swarovski crystal buckle is very 1920s Manhattan. If your budget doesn´t quite stretch that far, look for a gorgeous buckle in a flea market and attach it to a more budget belt.

Most belts save their decoration for the buckle. This Bottega Veneta belt has an interesting twist to it, with the gold trim on the belt itself, and a very plain buckle. It would look stunning cinching in a plain dress, or with a white satin shirt.
