What Kind of Jeans Are the Best Type for Your Body?

By Teresa26 Comments

No matter your body type, buying jeans can be a not-so-fun experience. No matter what your shape or size is, it can be overwhelming and stressful to try to find jeans that will complement you, whether you’re shopping in store or online. Now, that doesn’t need to be an issue for you anymore! With this list in hand, you’ll never be nervous when shopping for jeans again! In fact, you may even come to enjoy it! I know—the thought of loving to shop for jeans is one that’s foreign to you (and me!) but this guide will make the process so much easier!

1 Hourglass Figure

If you have an hourglass figure, a good way to balance your figure out is by wearing solid color denim. Whether it’s lighter or darker, one solid color creates a slimming look whereas a faded look can make your legs look bigger than they are. A slim leg is also a great way to help elongate your legs when you’re an hourglass shape!

Frequently asked questions

2 Tall with Long Legs

If you’re tall with long legs like a model, the best jeans for you are flared jeans or wide leg jeans. Both are super chic, and they can help balance you out and create a curvier look for you, if that’s the look that you’re trying to achieve. Regardless of what look you’re trying to pull off, wide legs are so flattering on tall women that they’re the perfect jeans for you!

3 Petite

If you’re a petite woman, you are one of the lucky few women who can pull off boyfriend jeans. (I don’t care what body shape I am, though; you will never tear me away from my boyfriend jeans.) Throw on your favorite pair of boyfriend jeans, roll them up once or twice, and then revel in your luck because the most comfortable jeans are the jeans that look the most flattering on your body type!

4 Pear-Shaped

If you’re pear-shaped like me, you want to wear dark wash denim, because dark colors are slimming, rather than lighter denim that accentuates areas you don’t necessarily love. If you’re a pear shape, the last thing you want is more curves on bottom, so tone things down with a narrow leg rather than flared jeans.

5 Apple-Shaped

If you’re heavier on top than on bottom, you may want to try to play down your curves, or simply even things out. Wear high-waisted jeans as a bit of a control top and then layer longer shirts over it to hide any bumps or bulges you don’t want people to see.

6 Athletic

I think it goes without saying that it’s difficult to find skinny jeans that fit when you have an athletic body with larger calves. Rather than continue the skinny jean fight, go for a jean with a wider leg to truly accommodate your beautiful legs!

7 Plus-Size

If you’re curvy all over, a dark wash will help you slim you down and hide those little problem areas you don’t want to showcase just yet. Everyone wears black to look skinnier than they actually are, but if you want to wear jeans and can’t find a way to create a slimming look, a darker wash is the way to go.

What’s your body type? Will you try any of these styles out this year? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
