7 Gorgeous Spring Coats You'll Love ...

So the weather isn’t exactly creating a ‘perfect Spring’ in most countries at the moment – in fact, it’s looking very likely that we’ll need to be digging out the Spring coats! Give yourself a mental break from the chunkiness that is Winter, and give your wardrobe a bright new look to boot, with these gorgeous Spring coats. They are sure to make you smile!

1 French Fancy…

French Fancy… This picture had me dreaming up all kinds of ways to inject some French chic into my outfit – there’s something so gorgeously chic about the model! I love the contrast of a muted, neutral dress and a bright coat, and the length is just perfect. Red shoes, a messy updo and nude make-up finish the look perfectly (although I’d have ditched the cigarette!). Steal this look for work or play – it’s grown up and gorgeous, yet totally playful too. ASOS and Net-A-Porter have some great copycat Spring coats, too.

Frequently asked questions

2 Belted…

Belted… Give a long-line trench a new lease of life with this stylish look. This Ralph Lauren coat comes in a range of muted tones that make it easy to coordinate, and I love the way the model matched her bag to the look! Undone coats rock this look best, so opt for something chic like Topshop Unique’s long white blazer coat, and add a loosely coordinated belt around the middle and some striking shoes. Just remember to keep your coat undone – it’s disheveled chic!

3 Ruffled…

Ruffled… There’s something very Victorian about a neutral ruffled coat – and it looks great worn with a classy updo and delicate jewelry, like here! For more everyday styles, opt for a ruffled coat in a loud color. It’ll add a bold touch to your wardrobe and give you something to smile about whatever the weather. I love this bold blue Etsy version, which costs $139: etsy.com.

4 Edgy…

Edgy… Leather is set to be huge this Spring, and everyone is wearing it, from Kate Moss to Kim Kardashian. Wrap up warm without the frumpy layers by opting for a sleeveless biker jacket, such as this Selected Shanny design, and wearing it with white skinny jeans and ankle boots. It even looks divine worn on top of a jumper. Adventurous and comfortable – that’s my kind of Spring coat!

5 Parka…

Parka… Fancy a parka with a difference? River Island at ASOS have you covered. There 100% cotton parkas are ideal for protecting your outfit from the rain, and the camouflage green is a very in color – but it’s not as boring as the standard design. Turn around and reveal a stunning colorful woven tiger scene on the back, complete with studding. It’s fitted enough to keep you looking stylish, not scary, and it’s a great length for wearing with jeans or dresses. Win.

6 Dipped Hems…

Dipped Hems… I loved my dipped hem mac last year, and I’ll definitely be digging it out again. The soft fabric is lovely to feel against your skin, and the thick material and funnel neckline make keeping warm easy. That’s not to mention the flattering shape the coat creates! Wear with white jeans and black heels for a very chic take on monochrome, and don’t forget a bright red lip!

7 Bold…

Bold… There’s a whole load of bright designs around this year, including embellished tribal patterns a la Dolce and Gabbana, geometric shapes, color clashes and yellow PVC. These funky designs aren’t likely to last too many seasons, but the cheerful color schemes are sure to have you smiling every time you get dressed. Team daring Spring coats with cut-off denim shorts, knee high socks and a plain T for the ultimate in festival wear. Just add a bright hat, sunglasses and wellies!

That’s not to mention all the cropped jackets popping up across the catwalk – it’s definitely time to get your midriff ready to bare! I can’t wait to invest in some new coats to keep warm in this season. It might be almost April, but we’ve got snow here! Which Spring coats are your favorites? I’d love to know!
