1. Grace Helbig

While this quote doesn’t directly deal with fashion, Grace Helbig is actually in the process of writing a book all about style, so I think that this quote works perfectly when it comes to her own personal brand of fashion advice. A lot of times we feel pressured to be a certain type of girl, especially in terms of style, and she’s saying it’s okay not to be that person as long as we’re happy with who we are!

2. Lupita Nyong’o

I think a lot of us came to the realization that fashion was art after watching Lupita Nyong’o kill red carpets across the globe. She wears her pieces like she’s wearing works of art. Reading this quote was very eye-opening, to me at least, that we should all be wearing our clothes like we’re wearing art.

3. Rachel Antonoff

Can I just say that I relate to this quote on an extremely personal level? Don’t get me wrong, I love trends as much as the next girl, but I’ve learned that if I’m wearing something that I don’t feel comfortable in, I’m not going to wear it with confidence, and my outfit will be completely ruined. Never sacrifice comfort because of a trend you’ve seen on the runways!

4. Selena Gomez

Selena keeps this comfort trend going, and I love it. There’s no reason that we should tailor what we’re wearing to what other people want to see us in. Whether it’s your boyfriend, your best friend, or your mom who wants to see you wear something, if you don’t like how it looks, don’t wear it. Dress for yourself and no one else.

5. Blake Lively

When you’re as big of a star as Blake Lively, but even if you’re not, this is such a helpful piece of advice. If you’ve got as many eyes on you as Blake does, it’s important not to think of what other people’s responses will be. However, even if half that many people are looking at you, your first thought shouldn’t be what their reactions will be. That should be your last thought! You’re dressing for yourself and no one else!

6. Karlie Kloss

Again, feeling good in what you’re wearing is most important. If you don’t feel good in what you’re wearing, you’re not going to look good. It’s all about confidence, and if you aren’t exuding confidence, you’re not going to look nearly as good as you could!

7. Mindy Kaling

Sometimes that really is all it takes. There are some times where you just don’t feel good in anything you’re putting on, and you’re really not in the mood to socialize and look amazing. If you ever get in those moods, put on some lipgloss and act like you’re super excited for whatever you’re going to. You may just fool some people, including yourself!
