1

Accessorize

One of the simplest ways to spice up your style this semester is by adding accessories to your outfits. Accessories change the entire vibe of your outfit. They can take today's theme from sassy and youthful to classic and elegant in an instant! But buying accessories can be expensive, so explore all of your options. Borrow your mom's jewelry, and check for deals and steals at stores like Kohl's and Target first!

2

Color Scheme

Simply changing up your color scheme can make a huge difference in your style! If last year you wore black and grey every day, this year mix it up and wear bright, colorful clothing, or vice versa. Your classmates will be thrown for a loop when they see you in a different color scheme, and you'll feel like a whole new person!

3

Copy-catting

Sometimes, you need a model for what sort of fashion decisions you should make. You can copy a celebrity, model, or a different era of clothing like the 1940s or 1920s. No matter what, you'll end up with a fashionable, creative look sure to remind you of some of your favorite people.

4

Borrow

Let's face it, generally teenagers aren't the richest people. So if you're thinking of revamping your wardrobe, you may not have the funds necessary to do so. Lucky for you though, you have the option to borrow! Borrow from your siblings, friends, and even boyfriend! After that, you'll have several different styles at your disposal! Make sure the borrowing is reciprocated though, so you don't seem like a mooch— although I doubt your boyfriend will want to borrow any of your crop tops or mini skirts any time soon.

5

Go Thrifting

If you don't feel comfortable borrowing, or if your friends and family just have a poor sense of style, don't hesitate to go thrifting! Thrift stores are a treasure trove of new styles waiting to be bought and worn by you! And all for a low price and vintage vibe!

Back to Basics

Sometimes we do so much trying to look good, but really look great in jeans and a t-shirt! If your style is approaching red carpet status, spicing it up might mean toning it down. Simplify your style and I guarantee you'll be surprised by how stellar you look!

7

Explore Other Styles

It's easy to get stuck in a rut and only wear one type of outfit. But that leads to getting labeled as a number of things- the goth, the cutesie, the nerd, etc. However, if you explore completely alien styles (that you still feel comfortable in), you'll take the world by storm! You're always changing; embrace that change and reflect it in the way you dress!

Changing things up is fun and important as a teenager. You should never feel like you’ve fallen into and gotten stuck in a label, because you’re always evolving and that’s okay! How do you plan to spice up your style this semester?
