Doesn’t it seem like trends just recycle a lot of the time? Well, if that’s the case, then the 90s and early 00s are definitely back, and these trends are some that we’re already starting to see make their way back into clothing stores. Even if you aren’t too ecstatic for these trends to come back in style just yet, I think we can all agree that we’re at least a little bit excited to relive the old days in terms of our old favorite style! Is it time to pull out the hair crimper yet? Only time will tell!
1 Overalls
Overalls give me near instant flashbacks to my childhood, but even I can admit that when worn right, they’re absolutely adorable. One of my current favorite overall looks is, of course, Taylor Swift, who rocked hers with a crop top, and instantly became everyone’s overall inspiration of this decade.

2 Flannel
Flannel was such a huge trend in the 90s, and it’s definitely back right now. Although winter seems like it’s the main time of the year to wear this trend, it can so easily be translated to a cooler day in the summer! Simply wear one of your favorite tank tops with a loose flannel. The breeziness of the flannel will actually help keep you cool!
3 Crop Tops
Crop tops have obviously been back in style for a few years now, but they’ve always been a slightly updated version of the trend that defined the late 90s and early 00s. This decade’s trend was wearing them shorter than the old trend, but lately, the length has been starting to creep its way back into 90s territory!
4 Sheer
Sheer was a huge trend years ago, and it’s been making its way back into our hearts both on the red carpet and the streets! If you’re looking to jump on the trend, try wearing a simple (or bright!) bandeau with a sheer top over it. You’ll look so chic!
5 Acid Wash Denim
If you watch any family sitcom from the 80s and 90s, it’d probably only take a few seconds before any one of the main characters was spotted wearing acid wash denim. That reality is not too far from being true again today, as acid wash denim is coming back in a huge way, especially if you’re into the grunge trend!
6 Birkenstocks
Birkenstocks may give me terrible flashbacks to my late childhood, but I can admit that they’re a cute trend coming back into style lately. The chunky style goes so well with so many different new outfits. If you haven’t jumped back on the Birkenstock trend yet, it’s only a matter of time!
7 Culottes
This is one trend that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to wear again, but I understand why they’re coming back. Culottes are essentially wide-legged capris; making them one of the most comfortable (and usually cute) pants you could ever wear. If you loved them back then, you’ll probably love them just as much now, so start wearing them again!
