1. Start by Wearing Them around the House

Start by Wearing Them around the House When you’re trying to get comfortable wearing shorts again, start wearing them at home first. If you’re not comfortable wearing them at all, wearing them at home is a great way to introduce them back into your wardrobe and gain some confidence while doing so!

When it comes to fashion, everyone has their own preferences and style. Shorts are a wardrobe staple for many women during the warmer months, but for some, they can be a source of anxiety. With the right tips, however, you can feel comfortable and even confident in shorts.

First, make sure you have the right fit. Shorts should fit comfortably around the waist and reach just above the knee. If the shorts are too tight, they may be uncomfortable and unflattering. If they are too loose, they may look sloppy. Try on different sizes and styles until you find the right fit for your body type.

Second, choose the right fabric. Lightweight fabrics like cotton, linen, and chambray are breathable and comfortable. They are also perfect for summer days and nights. If you want a more polished look, try a pair of dressy shorts in a heavier fabric like wool or twill.

Third, accessorize. Accessories can add an extra touch of style and personality to your outfit. A belt can help define your waist and add a pop of color. A scarf or a lightweight jacket can also add an extra layer of warmth if you’re feeling a bit chilly.

2. Take Care of Your Legs

Take Care of Your Legs One of the most important parts of caring for your legs is to take good care of them. Exfoliate and shave every day, and then be sure to wear lotion. The more time you spend loving and taking care of your legs, the more confident you’ll feel in your shorts!

3. Find Your Perfect Pair of Shorts

Find Your Perfect Pair of Shorts It’s amazing what the perfect pair of shorts can do for your confidence. If you don’t feel confident wearing shorts, it may just be because you haven’t found that perfect pair of shorts yet. Spend a day going shopping at all of your favorite stores looking for the best pair of shorts for you!

4. Try for a Longer Pair of Pants and Transition

Try for a Longer Pair of Pants and Transition If you really don’t feel comfortable in shorts in any capacity, whether you’re at home or not, start with longer pants. Wear capris for a week, and then transition into Bermuda shorts, and then transition into your perfect pair of shorts. Transitioning can make the process easier.

5. Find the Right Length for You

Find the Right Length for You Everyone is going to have a different “perfect length” when it comes to a pair of shorts. Figure out what yours is, whether you feel comfortable enough in cutoffs, like a few inches of fabric, or you’re a Bermuda shorts girl. Whatever length you choose, you have to feel comfortable in it, and once you find that length, shopping for shorts will become so much easier!

6. Start Working out

Start Working out I’m not saying that you need to work out, lose a bunch of weight, or gain a lot of definition to feel comfortable in shorts. However, if you do start working out, you’ll feel physically stronger, and as a result you’ll feel more confident in your shorts, no matter how well defined your legs are.

7. Highlight Your Favorite Body Parts

Highlight Your Favorite Body Parts Everyone has his or her favorite body parts. If you don’t feel very comfortable in shorts, try wearing something else that accentuates that favorite body part. It’s a quick and easy way to pull attention from your shorts and focus it on something you love about yourself!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

My favorite pair of shorts came from Old Navy. They have a variety of washes and lengths to fit each body type

Okay I'm literally obsessed with having no hair on my legs and I don't even shave everyday

I only wear shorts abroad

My main problem is that i need ti tone thighs and leg hair otherwise im fine

Exfoliate and shave everyday?!?!? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Spray tan...I like my legs better when they're tanned

My problem is all shorts I've found creep. It's uncomfortable and annoying and I'm not overweight. Any suggestions?

I live in Florida which is basically shorts everyday land. All it took was a trip to Disneyworld to realize I didn't look so bad in shorts. The standard length at DW is "barely covers vagina". Just so we're clear, if your pockets are longer than your shorts and we can see pubic hair peeking out...YOUR SHORTS ARE TOO SHORT!!!

I live in Florida too, shorts are a year round staple.
