1 Flannel
Flannel is so hot this season, whether in copious amounts or just by adding smaller touches of plaid to your fall wardrobe. It’s probably preferable to stick to the latter. Style from the 90’s is coming back (already), and flannel was such a huge trend then that it’s perfect for fall right now! Flannel shirts are also the perfect way to stay warm when it’s just starting to get cold.
2 Leather Boots
Leather boots are always a necessary fall staple. They’re not only adorable, but they keep you warm as it starts to get colder in the fall months. There are so many different styles and varieties of boots to choose from as well that your options are virtually never-ending.

3 Pea Coats
Obviously pea coats are in style every fall, but there’s something about them that adds a little bit of polish to an average outfit, making them perfect to spice up a fall wardrobe. Even if you don’t have the energy to put together the cutest outfit one morning, put on a pea coat and you automatically look more put together and stylish than you did before.
4 Accent Jewelry
There are so many jewelry trends around this fall. Tiny gold rings or chunky necklaces both add something special to a plain outfit. Take an outfit from last fall and add cute rings, bracelets, or necklaces to it to make it look completely new. You’d be surprised at what a chunky gold necklace can do to a dress you wore last fall. Accent jewelry is also perfect to spice up a fall wardrobe because it’s so easy to find for cheap. There’s high-end accent jewelry, but there’s also jewelry you can find pretty cheaply at Kohl’s or T.J. Maxx. The options and variety are almost endless.

5 Bright Cardigans
Cardigans add something fresh to plain outfits in the fall, and excel at keeping you warm; two important factors when compiling your fall wardrobe. Brightly colored cardigans add even more pizazz to your fall wardrobe. Fall colors tend to be on the darker and more muted side, so adding a bright-color cardigan to a darker outfit will make you stand out and look adorable. You may even have a few bright cardigans from spring or summer that you can break out to add to your fall wardrobe! All in all, it’s a cheap and easy alternative for spicing up your fall wardrobe.
6 The Army Jacket
The dark green army jacket is a secret trend that’s actually everywhere this fall. Don’t believe me? Walk down the street, and I guarantee you will suddenly notice 10 army jackets without even trying to. Not only are they warm, they look super cute with any outfit. You can wear it over a tank top you were obsessed with this summer, and just like that your favorite summer outfit has transitioned with you to fall.
7 Hats and Scarves
Hats and scarves not only spice up your fall outfits, they’re sometimes a necessity. There have been many fall days where it’s been so cold that I couldn’t imagine leaving the house without a hat, scarf, or both. They’re good accessories to add to a drab outfit, but they also work wonders at keeping you warm on the coldest days of fall.
It can be difficult to spice up a fall wardrobe while also staying warm and cozy as it gets colder. What are your tips for staying warm yet fashionable in the fall? Fashion is subjective, so you may have completely different ideas than I do! Let me know in the comments, I’m always looking for new ideas myself!
