1. You Don’t Have to Spend Tons of Money

One of my personal favorite style tips from Karl Lagerfeld may come as a surprise from such a luxury fashion icon. He said it perfectly when he stated, “Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes. There is good clothing design on every level today.” Lagerfeld knows that you don’t have to spend a million bucks to feel like a million bucks.

  • Karl Lagerfeld was an iconic fashion designer known for his work with big names like Chanel and Fendi. His personal style and groundbreaking designs made him a legend.

  • Karl was big on keeping things classic but with a twist. Think sleek silhouettes, sharp tailoring, and a monochromatic palette. Oh, and those iconic sunglasses!

  • Start with the basics like a crisp white shirt, a tailored jacket, and some statement accessories. Don't forget your confidence; that's something Karl always had!

  • Oh yes, Karl had a few! One of his favorites was to avoid trends that don't suit you and to always dress for yourself.

  • Absolutely! Focus on clean lines and classic pieces that you can mix and match. Check out thrift stores for unique finds that echo Karl's flair.

2. Express Yourself

Lagerfeld appreciates that fashion is the best way to express yourself and your personality. But he takes it a step further and believes that clothing should express not only your personality, but also your viewpoints, opinions, and ideas. He has stated that “fashion is a language that creates itself in clothes to interpret reality.” And I would have to agree that your sense of fashion should reflect your sense of the world around you.

3. You Can Never Have Enough Black

What else could you expect from the famous Chanel designer? Of course Lagerfeld loves black. He is rarely seen wearing any other color besides black. When in doubt of what to wear, throw on some black and you will instantly look chic and ready to go.

4. You Don’t Need Others' Approval

If you didn’t already know from the scandal of Lagerfeld’s quotes sometimes, he clearly does not care about what others think of him. He is not afraid to break boundaries. Transfer that spirit into your wardrobe by wearing what you want, not just what is trendy. If you feel comfortable in your clothes, you will not care what others think of how you look.

5. Be Sure of Your Purchases

When it comes to shopping, don’t just buy for the sake of buying. Whether it is a small t-shirt or an expensive bag, make sure you are confident in your purchases. As he puts it, “Buy only because something excites you, not just for the simple act of shopping.”

6. It’s the Whole Picture

Don’t just leave it at your clothing. Lagerfeld believes that style comes from the whole picture. Your hair, makeup, and accessories all contribute to how stylish you look and feel. He suggests that women “don’t skimp on the makeup, and be sure to have flawless skin and hair.” While I know it is hard for women to look flawless all of the time, make sure you are putting a little bit of effort into the little details to perfect the big picture.

7. Be Confident

Lagerfeld is always firm in his beliefs, outfits, and basically everything he does. Take a page from his book and feel confident in all that you do. Wear clothes that make you feel fabulous, do up your makeup and hair, wear heels during the day - whatever it takes for you to strut your stuff and feel confident and fabulous.

Lagerfeld might not be known as the best role model, but he can be a great source of fashion wisdom. He didn’t get to be a world famous designer without knowing a thing or two about style. *you won't be yourself

Number 3 Black is great and when you've put on a few extra pounds out comes the black for that slimming effect :)

Only buy and wear what you like. When you wear what you want to wear it shows your personality, your interests, your thoughts, maybe your mood, and everything about you! Express yourself and don't care what other people say. If you change your opinion for the sake of their thoughts, you won't be yourself.

Great tips, Express ur self throw fashion make very uniq because we All different in some Way

I agree, black is the best color to wear

Good tips. Could have come from anyone really :)

Number six is totally true. You could wear a 1000 dollar dress but if your hair and make up isn't done you won't look good. But at the same time you could buy all your clothes from the thrift store but if your hair and make up is done you can look great. I find its not always necessarily what you wear, but if you have great hair and your face is done you can pull off almost anything you want to! ^.^

I,on the contrary,don't like black.
