There are a handful of clothing items every college girl wears to class, or so it seems. I'm sure no matter where you go to school you've realized there are common trends in fashion amongst the students. This list may be a bit biased toward those of us that go to schools up north, but I’m sure some of these items are universal. So here is what every college girl wears to class, from a northerner’s perspective.

1. North Face Jacket

North Face Jacket North Face jackets are one of the main clothing items every college girl wears to class. North Face has many different kinds of jackets, but I've noticed that their heavy winter coats and Denali coats are the most popular. I looked into purchasing these jackets when I noticed so many people on my campus wearing them, and I'm glad I did! Both are very warm and comfortable, and perfect for walking to class in the cold.

2. Uggs

Uggs Uggs are extremely comfortable and warm shoes for the winter months. Most girls wear these to class on a daily basis. Uggs can be a bit pricey, but there are also many knock-offs that look and feel similar to them if you want the look but don't want to spend the money.

3. Yoga Pants

Yoga Pants When I was in high school, sweatpants used to be the go-to comfy pants, but yoga pants have most definitely taken their place. Yoga pants are stretchy and work with most outfits. You can purchase yoga pants from many different stores, but Aerie and Victoria's Secret Pink have a wide and affordable selection of them.

4. Boot Socks

Boot Socks Boot liner socks are a fad that I just noticed recently. Basically, these are knee socks that are pushed down to just show above your boots. I love this new style, because not only does it look cool, but it also prevents you from getting salt, snow, or pebbles in your boots.

Evoke the spirit of grand festivities with fashion that celebrates tradition and craftsmanship. Embrace a different period, dress up and have fun!

5. Burberry Scarf

Burberry Scarf The Burberry pattern is the most common scarf pattern, or at least that's how it appears on my campus. So many girls--and guys--wear Burberry scarves to class (though I doubt most of them are real Burberry). The pattern and colors of this scarf work with most outfits, so it’s no wonder it is such a common trend!

6. Ray Bans

Ray Bans Whenever it’s sunny out, the Ray Ban sunglasses come out. The two most popular sunglass types I’ve noticed are the aviators and the wayfarers. Both of these are very casual sunglasses that you can wear to class without feeling like you’re rocking the movie star look.

7. Michael Kors Bag

Michael Kors Bag One of the fairly new trends I've noticed is girls using Michael Kors bags to carry their notebooks to class. I personally love this fad because Michael Kors offers so many fashionable bags that are plenty big enough to carry your belongings to and from class. So if you're looking to replace your backpack, check out some Michael Kors bags!

There are many fashion trends that come and go, but these are a few of the items I’ve noticed are extremely popular amongst college girls this year. Do you notice these trends on your college campus? If you’re lucky enough to go to school where it’s warm, what other trends do you notice?

Haha I've never worn any of these things to class....at my college it's all about the athletic spandex type nike bottoms and sneakers. You did do great at creating a list of the essentials for a stereotypical white girl.

Since when did owning a north face jacket become a stereotypical white girl staple? I'm sorry but wearing a jacket made by one of the top outdoor clothing company's out there does not determine my skin color •__•

And why are you proud you don't own a pair of yoga pants?
