7 Effortlessly Stylish Ways You Should Be Wearing Metallics ...

It wasn’t just a long wait for series 4 that Game of Thrones left us with – the metallics trend definitely started there, too. But while the high street is full of metallic trousers, tops, accessories and bags, it can feel rather daring actually wearing anything in the metallics trend. So how do you ensure you look elegant, rather than sci-fi? Just check out these great looks…

Mix Your Trends…

Mix Your Trends… If you aren’t feeling overly confident about rocking metallics, try mixing them with another trend to make it easier. This peplum dress by Van Mildert is already effortlessly trendy, but the metallic gold and black weaving gives it a metallic-military feel, too. It’s even fully lined, so you could literally wear it anywhere. Just add heels, and you’ll have this trend down.

2

Go Bold…

Go Bold… I LOVE this Michael Michael Kors t-shirt. It’s something about such a casual, traditional shape being covered in glitzy gold sequins – it makes sequins very wearable. Team this top with your favorite jeans, shorts or even office trousers. It’s bold enough to go with anything, and you won’t need accessories, either. Beautiful.

3

Cute Crops…

Cute Crops… Bralets and crop tops are definitely hot this season, and this Lashes of London version from ASOS is just perfect for mixing the trends. The metallic lilac color is eye-catching without being too space-age, and the cut-out section is perfect for showing off your abs. Make like the model by teaming it with a high-waisted gold skirt, or tone it down by adding high-waisted jeans. Either way, this bralet will definitely get worn!

4

Animal Print…

Animal Print… I love this metallic take on pencil skirts – it’s just so chic! The whole skirt has a leathery snake-skin look in chocolate brown, with metallic patches adding to that safari vibe. There’s even a small back split, to make walking effortless. Try wearing it with a tucked in white blouse for a formal look that’s bang on trend. You can find it for a steal at Fashion Union.

Amazing a-Line…

Amazing a-Line… Want a slightly more grown-up take on skater skirts? This metallic A-line dress from ASOS has that same flowy feeling, but a slightly longer length, and more tailoring. It’s made from leather, but the light color makes it much easier to wear than traditional black leather, and the pleating detail is just so cute. Try teaming it with black shoes and a long sleeved blouse for a clash of contemporary and vintage that is just so now.

Glitzy Heels…

Glitzy Heels… If you love heels, these Giuseppe Zanotti heels will be right up your street. The contoured wedge heel is striking but surprisingly easy to walk on, and the rose gold color is a great way to add a splash of metallic to your look. Wear them with pencil skirts to work, or team them with jeans to glam them up.

7

Stylish Satchel…

Stylish Satchel… I love satchels this season, and they are a great way to get the metallics look easily. This Zatchels satchel comes in metallic gold, silver or blends of the two, and it can be personalized with your name or a short message. You can even choose between a range of sizes! I’ve got one to carry my laptop around in, and it never fails to attract compliments. The traditional styling mean this will be in vogue for years to come, so splash out on a satchel that you really love.

Rocking the metallics look doesn’t have to be difficult! Just choose one item to change, and team it with some much-loved pieces that you already own. You’ll get confidence from the familiar items, and look bang on trend, too! Have you found a great way to rock metallics? Let me know!

You could wear something with metallic design. My current fave is the Kurtz style tops with designs or patterns created from metallic thread or inlays.

Interesting!
